Cloud Observations

Cloud Watching

Three times this week we looked at clouds and recorded
our observations in our science notebooks

Here is what our observations look like!

We also got into groups of three to sort weather facts into two
piles: agree and disagree. After we watched a video, we checked our answers.

We learned mainly about stratus (low, blanket clouds), cumulus
(cotton ball-like clouds), and cirrus (wispy horse tail clouds).

Water Cycle Bracelet

We finished our lessons on the water cycle and made a bracelet to help us remember:

Yellow: Sun (Sun's energy drives the water cycle)
Clear: Evaporation (Water heats up and changes into vapor)
White: Condensation (Water condenses in the atmosphere creating clouds)
Blue: Precipitation (Water droplets get too heavy and fall to Earth)
Green: Runoff (Water returns to the oceans, rivers, streams, and groundwater)

Great Review!

During our research, the R&D Department found these
great activities to go along with our water cycle unit.

Our Marketing Department made a powerpoint presentation: Water Cycle!
Check out the Marketing Department showing us what they made.

 Water Cycle

Hello everyone-

We have been studying the water cycle for the past week.  We have making foldables, taking notes, and studying the four repeating steps of the water cycle.  If anyone has anything interesting facts, questions, or articles about the water cycle to send in, please feel free.  We have a video link of a water cycle rap from TeacherTube.   You may explore TeacherTube to see more water cycle videos.
